About the Art/Commissions

Vectors seem to be the way to go with art nowadays, but I guess I'm just stuck in the past.  Hence, the art here is more focused on old-school pen and ink drafting rather than digitalized images.  The effect is definitely rougher, with a home-spun edge.  Nothing fancy here, just whatever I can do with a pen and Paint.

I'm happy to take commissions.  Drawing is more fun when it's for someone else.  Either leave a post here, or shoot me an eve-mail and I'd be happy to discuss what you want.  I work on a donation basis, because I'd rather the focus be the art than the isk. =) (that being said, please take into consideration how much work is going into each of these. I am trusting your fairness in this matter)

As far as time frames go for getting your finished piece, this varies depending on how many pieces I'm working on at the time.  Generally, it takes me a week of solid work to finish a signature, with total drawing time adding up to roughly 15-30 hours. More complicated images will take more time.  If you are not happy with the result, I'm more than willing to work with you on revisions until we reach what you've been aiming for.

If you would like a commission, please address the following in your post/email:

• Type: what type of commission would you like? Signature? Banner? General picture? Background image? Other? I've gotten a few different requests (including tattoos and blog redesign), so if you aren't sure if I'll do an image, just go ahead and ask.  More than likely I'd be happy to give it a go.
• Emotion: what emotion are you trying to convey?  In a sense, how can I get your personality across?  Do you want to be portrayed as fun and exploratory, whimsical, threatening, sinister, etc?
• Size:
• For signatures, Eve Official Forums require a 120x400 max size.  However, this is generally very small for a sig, and most sites outside of eveo use slightly larger sizes (e.g. 200x600).  If you are looking for a sig, please note if you would like it made to eveo standards or other, or both.
• Backgrounds - dictate desktop screen size you are targeting.
• Banners - this is rather flexible, and up to you on how much space you want this to take up

• Background color - most eve, blog, and other backgrounds are either black or a charcoal grey.  However, if you want your piece targeted for a different color background, please note this as it will drastically affect the color choices.  Generally, when I create the designs, I draw on a transparent image layered over the background color of choice so that I can make sure it meshes against the background, and then I delete the background before the piece is finished, leaving only the image.  It should then look appropriate against your background color once uploaded without being a solid rectangular block.
• Text: please dictate any text (char name, corp name, quotation) that you'd like seen in your piece.  If you prefer one thing to be emphasized, please also note that.
